Philanthropy and Service
Sigma Delta Tau is nationally partnered with three philanthropic organizations- Prevent Child Abuse America and Jewish Women International. Our chapter works to contribute financially to these organizations through fundraisers and other events, but also raise awareness of their work to our fellow students at Tulane University. Locally, our chapter also supports The New Orleans Children’s Advocacy Center.

Our Philanthropy Events and Involvement
Our chapter organizes many different events to fund-raise money for these great causes. We have annual bake sales including a Dunkin' Donuts sale, a Halloween Trick or Treat, and at Tulane's Crawfest festival in April, we hold a raffle of gift certificates and other items local store owners donate. We also hold a percentage night when a few local restaurants team up with us to raise money for PCAA. On a designated night, a percentage of all the checks from people who came to the restaurant for the fundraiser are donated to PCAA. In addition to fundraisers, we hold many philanthropy events for our chapter, and Tulane as a whole. In the Fall, we hold our annual Kicks for Kids Kickball tournament where we raise money for PCAA. It is always fun to be a part of a team and play in friendly competition with our sisters as well as other on-campus organizations. In the Fall o 2018, we held our first Clothes for a Cause fundraiser where many of our sisters donated clothes and we held a clothing drive for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. We raised $1400 and felt so compelled, that we did another Clothes for a Cause in the Spring, and raised practically the same amount for JWI. We love to fundraise and help out our national and local philanthropies!
